Welcome to First Presbyterian Church

COVID-19 Updates

Dear Church Family,

Our congregation will continue to follow the presidential and gubernatorial guidelines to avoid gatherings of more than ten people, so we will have no gatherings on site this week or next.

We will do our best to maintain our worship and fellowship.

  • An abbreviated morning and evening worship service will be recorded at the church each week and loaded to YouTube. A link will be sent to the congregation so they can be viewed on the Lord’s Day.
  • Sara Beth Pillow and Amanda Greenlee will teach a K-5thgrade Sunday School Class online on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. While they teach, teachers and students will be able to see and talk with each other. If you haven’t already, mail Lindsey at fpcyazoo@gmail.com, and she will get you set up.
  • Our Women’s Bible Study will resume on Thursday April 2, meeting online at 10:30 a.m. Again, email Lindsey to get set up.
  • Our Youth are having their regular meetings online. Please contact Colton for additional information.

We hope it won’t be long before we can gather again at our facility. Until then, we want to do everything we can to encourage each other in the regular meeting of the church.

Lynne and I are grateful to be part of your lives, and especially during this state of emergency. If you feel that it’s best you shouldn’t be out in public, please let Lynne and I know. We’ll be glad to run any errands for you. Others in the congregation have volunteered to help us, so we should be able to get to you quickly.

In Christ’s Service,

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Yazoo City, a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America.

The Bible is dear to us. We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the holy, infallible, and inerrant word of God, the only rule of faith and obedience. Therefore, the exposition of the Bible is prominent in our worship and educational programs.

We are committed to historic Christian worship in the Reformed tradition, Christian fellowship, missions and evangelism, and the education and nurture of the church's covenant children.

I would love to share more with you about the life and ministry of our congregation. Please call me at 662-746-1226 or e-mail me at cwingard@rts.edu.

In Christ's Service,

Dr. Charles M. Wingard
Senior Pastor
